This is a 7.5" x 9.75" oval vegetable dish, made by Edwin M. Knowles. It has the stencilled semi-vitreous backstamp with the number 42-5 and made in USA. The pattern is in really nice condition. The bowl has some utensil scratches, and there are two chips on the rim. One is only visible from the back, but the other, larger chip is visible from the front and the back and it leads into a crack which extends approximately 1". This piece will need to be cleaned. When I first got it I thought it was a dark ivory, but a gentle cleaning proved it to be white. There is still some dirt in the utensil scratches. Further cleaning will be left to the buyer to do.
